ProRep Tortoise Life  substrate is part of the ProRep Life range,

specifically designed to replicate the arid habitats where Mediterranean and Russian tortoises are found.

This is ideal for most tortoises, and allows them to dig freely like a natural habitat.

Its texture and moisture retention replicates their environments perfectly, and means that it is easy to clean with a sieve, lasting longer and being more cost efficient for you.

This mixture simulates the texture and moisture retention characteristics of the soils found in their natural habitats much more closely than other substrates.

Prorep Tortoise Life Substrate

Directions:
Spread the substrate over the bottom of the enclosure to a depth of  2” (5cm) for young animals and 6” (15cm).

Russian tortoises particularly may need a deeper substrate as they burrow extensively.

Spot-clean daily to remove soiled substrate and replace completely every 2 or 3 weeks.

Avoid making the substrate too wet.

The addition of pure limestone means that if reptiles ingest the substrate they are taking in calcium.
